K. Davison Philadelphia, PA. The medal is in nice condition with great patina. Here is a little history of George W. Delamater: “ Prominent Meadville banker; Presidential Elector for Pennsylvania, 1880; member of Pennsylvania State Senate Crawford County 1887-90 and candidate for Governor of Pennsylvania, 1890. Matthew S. Quay, a powerful Pa. political boss, pushed for and succeeded in the nomination of George W. Delamater but Delamater was rejected by the voters in favor of returning Democrat Robert E. Pattison to the governor's office. Delamater died August 7, 1907 at the age of 58”. If you collect 19 th century Pennsylvania political memorabilia, this is for you. Good luck.
