Authentic Original 1970 Campaign for Georgia Governor Pins!
Largest Around 2-1/2" Diameter
Jimmy Carter was the underdog against former Governor Carl Sanders
in the primary campaign. The larger "Count me for Carl" pin caused a stir
in the newspapers when it was discovered that 1968 Humphrey pins
were used for the backs! Both candidates were trying to out
conservative each other and HHH was considered very liberal.
Carter went on to win the nomination against Sanders and the
general election against GOP nominee Hal Suit.
Newspaper clips are found online and

included with this lot.
